25 ISIS members killed as YPG and YPJ make further advances

NEWS CENTER - YPG Press Office has issued a statement on the 131st day of the Kobanî resistance reporting that the cleansing operation of the YPG and YPJ forces in the town centre continues as well as the advance of resistance units in the villages to the south and west of the town, and on the eastern front.

YPG said the region from Sinaî area to the 48th Street north-east of Kobanî has completely been cleansed of the gangs, adding that the YPG and YPJ forces advanced 2 more streets eastwards in this region which involves Sinaî area, Seyda neighborhood, Seyda Mosque and Mektaba Şerîa.

In the operation launched in this region, 18 gang members were ascertained killed, reported the YPG, adding that corpses of 9 ISIS members as well as a large amount of ammunition and weapons were also seized.

The statement further reported that YPG and YPJ forces launched another operation in the area between the Mistenûr hill and the 48th Street, adding that 5 gang members were killed in the clash.

Two YPG members who played an important role for the liberation of the area have fallen in the fighting.

The statement went on reporting that YPG and YPJ fighters also launched operations against the villages occupied by the gangs. An operation carried out last night to cleanse Termik village 2 km the south of Kobanî of the gangs resulted in the liberation of the village completely, while 2 gang members were killed and 5 others were wounded. It was added that the number of casualties left by attacks in these villages couldn’t be made clear.

According to the statement, 25 members of the gangs were ascertained killed in the last 24 hours of fighting..

YPG Press Centre added that 1 gang member was killed in another attack in which YPG and YPJ targeted the gang groups emplaced in Xenamiyê village to the north of Til Hemis.
